1.In short
Kịrịkẹnị uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or any third-party tracking. If you never sign in, no cookies are needed to search or browse the dictionary.
2.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember something about you between pages or visits, such as the fact that you are signed in.
3.The cookies we use
- Sign-in cookies (names starting “sb-” and containing “auth-token”): set by our authentication provider, Supabase, when you sign in. They keep you signed in as you move around the site, and last until you sign out or your session expires. On kirikeni.com they are shared across our subdomains so one sign-in covers your dashboard too.
- Sign-in verifier cookie (name ending “code-verifier”): a short-lived cookie set only while you sign in with Google, to make sure the sign-in completes securely.
These cookies are strictly necessary for the features you ask for, so they do not need your consent. They do not track you across other websites.
4.Other things stored in your browser
If you choose light or dark mode, the choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name “theme” so the site looks the way you left it. It never leaves your device.
Sounds you record on the Contribute page are held in your browser only until you submit them.
5.Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookies, you will still be able to search and browse, but you will not be able to sign in, save favourites or contribute.
6.Changes
If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, such as analytics, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Questions can go to hello@kirikeni.com.
